TALES FROM THE PRICKLE FORREST

TALES FROM THE PRICKLE FORREST

If you like mysteries with a little humor and a classic twist, then travel into Chrissy Hartmann’s Prickle Forrest where desire and revenge populate this world of spine-prickling tales that never disappoint.

Now settle in for a few stories of conviction, desire, mystery, and yes, humor. Sparkling wickedly crafted Tales from the Prickle Forrest will question your perception about life… And even death.

This anthology blends the wit and sharp twists of Marilyn Todd with the eerie, unsettling tone of Shirley Jackson. Each story peels back the layers of everyday life to reveal the dark, quirky, and often poignant truths beneath—perfect for readers who crave smart, surprising fiction that lingers long after the last page.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR…

Chrissy Hartmann writes stories with teeth. Whether it’s sweet-talking cowboys in her Whiskey Salvation Series or morally-questionable characters in Tales from the Prickle Forrest, she believes fiction should come with a little bite—and maybe a body or two.

She grew up splitting time between sailing Lake Erie and dodging manure on her grandpa’s horse farm, so naturally, her stories lean toward the unpredictable. These days, she juggles an Eagle Scout, a pack of opinionated fluffballs, and edits for Prickle Forrest Books while managing her semi-regular blog of literary chaos at Prickle Forrest Chronicles.

When she’s not arguing with fictional criminals or daydreaming about poetic justice, you can find her crate-digging vinyl with her husband or haunting libraries and indie bookstores where she talks way too much and buys even more.

Kick off your boots, grab a Whiskey, and buckle up. Things are about to get weird.

ENDORSEMENTS

“These stories? Let’s just say if half the inmates I supervise had read Tales from the Prickle Forrest, they might’ve learned how to get away with it — or at least added flair to the attempt. Chrissy Hartmann serves up revenge, irony, and moral mayhem like it’s cafeteria meatloaf — hot, twisted, and weirdly satisfying. Personally, I recommend it to every inmate who still thinks stealing cheese isn’t a felony. Five out of five shivs.”
