PUBLISHER’S ASSISTANT
Helping Indie Authors Publish with Confidence
Publishing your book shouldn’t be complicated — that’s why we’re here to help. Our services are designed to give indie authors the professional support they need while they keep full creative and financial control of their work.
What We Offer
✅ Final Read-Through – A last careful review to catch any lingering errors before your book goes to print.
✅ Media Shoutouts – Three months of promotional shoutouts on our social media sites to help spread the word about your book.
✅ Sell Sheet & Press Release – Professionally crafted marketing materials to help promote your book to bookstores, libraries, media, and potential readers.
✅ ISBN from Bowker – We provide an ISBN under our publishing name, but you retain full rights to your book. We do not collect any royalties from your sales.
✅ Publishing Guidance – We’ll walk you through registering your book on KDP, Draft2Digital, and IngramSpark, making the publishing process easier. Not a fan of the registration process? For small fee, we would be happy to do all this for you once you’ve set up your account with your choice of publishing platform.
Your Book, Your Rights
As the author, you own all rights to your book — we take no royalties, and you have complete control over your work. Our role is to provide the support and tools to help you publish successfully.
We do, however, reserve the right to refuse service if a book’s content does not meet our standards.

AUTHOR INTERVIEWS
Need help with your brand? Want more social media or blog exposure? Then e-mail the Prickle Forrest Books team for more information regarding our written author interviews with the below contact form.
Interviews will be posted to the Prickle Forrest Books blog.
Links to the interview will be posted to the Prickle Forrest Books accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Using the contact form below please send any request for more information or to schedule your interview. Please include the following:
• Author Name
• Genre
• Desired date for posting
Prickle Forrest Books will make every attempt to set your interview for the desired date. An invoice via CloverGo ywill be sent to you after interview date is confirmed. Once payment is received a list of questions for the author will be sent. Each interview needs to be returned 2 days prior to the scheduled interview date.
Along with the returned interview questions, please supply an author photo and book cover – front image – (JPG).
Service Fee: $17
DEVELOPMENTAL ASSESSMENT
This service is just what it sounds like. The Prickle Forrest Books developmental editor will read your unpublished manuscript.
The developmental editor will then comment on their thoughts regarding the overall story, usually 2 to 5 pages.
It will be up to the editor’s discretion to their extent of comments. The editor will make general comments on what needs improved such as pacing, characters, theme, plot, etc.
This is not a book review and there will be no posts about it.
This service is a subjective assessment of each chapter and how it flows in to the overall arc of the story line and plot. This is strictly for the author and/or publisher’s eyes only.
No formatting, grammar, punctuation, spelling, or style/line edits will be made unless the editor provides this as a courtesy.

Developmental assessments will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
At your request, a limited sample assessment can be provided.
Expedited services are available with an additional 15% fee.
Service Fee: $0.015 to $0.045 per word ($3.75 – $11.25 per page).
BOOK REVIEWS
Need your book reviewed?
Request a book review by Prickle Forrest Books.
Authors must furnish a copy of the book to the reviewer in their preferred format — E-book, Audio, or PDF.
In return the reviewer will provide a copy of the review, which is their own, original, honest, impartial, and fair opinion that does not reflect the author and/or publisher’s opinion.
Books are rated on a scale of 1 to 5.
All reviews with a score of 4 or 5 will be posted to our website, social media, Goodreads, and/or Amazon.
Any review of 3 will be given the option of its posting to the above mentioned sites. If any book receives less than 3 no review will be posted and instead will go directly to the author and/or publisher for assessment of the comments.
Prickle Forrest Books will not publish any review of any book we feel that might damage our credibility as reviewers and/or make the author and publisher look bad.
IF in the event that the book reviewer is unable to finish the book for a review, you will have the option to change its status from review to a developmental assessment and will be charged the fee accordingly.
All book reviews converted to a developmental assessment will receive an invoice for the service and will not be completed until payment is made in full.
Deadline for the developmental assessment will be altered to fit the calendar as time allows.
Converted book reviews to developmental assessments will take preference over new developmental assessments not already scheduled.

SOCIAL MEDIA SHOUTOUTS

Shout-out to their social media accounts, X, Facebook, and Instagram in regards to your latest book and/or author brand.

Don’t forget to ask about the bonus package.
Service Fee: $15 for 3 shout-outs/day for 5 days.
VISUAL IMPAIRMENT SENSITIVITY CRITIQUE
Prickle Forrest Books is happy to have on board a qualified visual impairment sensitivity editor who has been blind for the last 25+ years.
Our visual impairment sensitivity editor uses screen reader software, a white cane, does have a dog guide, and uses Braille.
A degree in history, 20+ years as a MLS editor, and a brief stint as a librarian add to our visual impairment sensitivity editor’s credentials.
Manuscripts needing this type of critique are available via a chapter-by-chapter basis or partial or whole manuscript.
Only those parts needing the visual impairment sensitivity critique will be assessed and commented on.
Half of the fee will be donated to The Seeing Eye.
